I think the key issue here is discernment. There’s a time to hold hard to dogmas and a time to lighten up in the hopes of exemplifying Jesus’s teachings. Jesus broke bread with sinners, i imagine he wasn’t glazing them but rather admonish their sins through his divine love

To agree to disagree. I do admit The Owl House does have some things that can be uncomfortable with some audiences (the presence of demons, LGBTQ+ themes, etc.) but I do like it for it's story and being of the few modern (post 2010) cartoons I do like. Most of the cartoons by Nickelodeon and later Cartoon Network during that span became unwatchable garbage with their oversimplified and ugly character designs and themes that don't sit well with me. Bottom line, I do respect your views on it.

Brother Bojan, my brother in law killed himself. He was a meth addict who dealt with that addiction for many years after his wife cheated on him. He put her through school and helped her get a job. He took on a lot of debt to help her through school. Then he found out that she had cheated on him. He took meth to help him carry the heavy workload without feeling tired, which is very unwise. They got split up, and he had all the debt on his shoulders which he couldn't handle anymore. He decided to live in the streets and has been on the streets for about 10 years. Many times, he tried stopping his addiction as what he described he kept seeing sounded to me like demons. On September 3rd, 2024 he killed himself. His family is distraught. He had told us a while back that he didn't want to be in the streets anymore and he didn't want to go to jail(for petty theft to fuel his addiction). What should I tell his family to comfort them?

The Ancient Faith Psalter has all 150 psalms, but they’re organized in a unique way, giving you a lot of options when it comes to praying them. There are large groupings, which itself is separated into smaller packages. So you can pray the large group, smaller group, or just ignore that and pray what you like

I came back to Christ a few months ago after being an atheist for 10 years, and that is exactly what I prayed: "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" He has blessed me with more and more faith each day. God is good. And what is more important is to follow the commands of Christ. Pick up your cross daily and follow Him. Don't get distracted by your ever-fluctuating emotions. That is living a life with yourself at the center and not Christ. Lord bless you all!

Bojan I'm so thankful to God you uploaded this. I've been struggling with basically the same thing for almost a year or two now. I was born and raised Orthodox and still consider myself Orthodox. In fact I pray almost every day and go to church almost every Sunday. However I do constantly feel doubt setting in that I might just be acting, that when I pray no one listens or that when someone dies that's the end. I know deep down that its not true and God is real but its almost like there is a layer in my brain blocking me from fully believing. It always comforts me to know I'm not the only one who deals with this and that we simply need to ignore these doubts and "feelings" and stay focused on God regardless trusting he knows what we're dealing with and has a plan. I do think this is more common nowadays due to the surge of atheism and agnosticism especially in many western countries which does test the faith of many. Some also (like me) deal with many intrusive thoughts that call for blasphemy against God or also sow doubt in the minds of people with this condition. Anyway again I'm very thankful for this and I'll be sure to save it so I can rewatch it when I struggle. God bless!

I've never met anyone who can stop sinning. When you fall, get up, but we all know we will continue to fall, and we continue to get up. The most serious problem is despair. I feel like my prayers are worthless or even that I don’t put enough effort into them. I don’t even know if god here’s me with all the sin I have done. So now I barely talk to him and when I do I don’t even know what to say or where to start so I just stop after a minute. I stopped reading my Bible and even though I grew up in the Orthodox Church my parent stopped going since Covid and the only church I could go to is Protestant. Please help me get back on track, I am so lost. I want to have a relationship with god but I keep prioritizing him last. What should I do? Where should I start? I'm not a priest, but first and formost I would think that one should not expect to become saint-like from one day to the next. So don't despair because you don't meet your own expectations or because you feel like you are a failure, because it is despair which might knock you off the right path. All people have a path to God, which might have a lot of hurdles and take a lot of steps to tread. Trust in Christ and He will deliver you. You clearly seem to still have the desire to be in connection with God; which is perhaps the most important thing. Cherish and be thankful of that fact! Because Christ won't leave such people hanging! I think the best thing to do is to talk to a real priest, even if it can only happen online. He should know the best advice for reinvigorating your faith.

A Christian who does not know his lord Jesus would be easily swayed to other religion because to him it does not matter if he would be good and do good. However, to believe in Jesus Christ is to acknowledge that He is God, He came as man, died, and rose again on the third day; He came to save the sinners, for all have sinned. As a Christian, as a believer, is to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is now sitting on the right hand of God the Father and the Holy Spirit is helping us to live right and to do good. To be good and to do good are not for blessing; to be good and to do good is the duty of a Christian. God is good all the time. A Christian is to be Christ-like.

Hello, Bojan! I hope you're doing well. Although I consider myself to be agnostic, I've been watching your main channel for a while now and I love your illustrations. I have a few questions, if you have time/want to answer them: How does one know they are Christian? As in, how does one "know that they know" that they have Christian beliefs and aren't just lying to themselves, or putting on a mask? Secondly, how does one get themselves to, or force themselves to believe in the Christian God when they simply just don't believe in it despite the evidence proving it's the most rational worldview? I've struggled with this topic for so long. Back when I was a "fake" Christian (looking back now, I didn't actually know much about theology, nor did I genuinely have Christian beliefs like I claimed to have), I tried convincing myself all the time, writing little notes to myself even, that I WAS a Christian and that the devil was just trying to make me believe that I didn't actually believe. I don't know how real my faith was or if I was just faking it the whole time and realized later on (when I started labeling myself as agnostic) that it wasn't genuine. Nowadays, I have these random emotional moments when I listen to my brother's chants/songs (he's Catholic), or when I read a certain scripture (I'm using a podcast to go along with a "Bible in a year" program), and I "feel" in those moments that I'm Christian and that I have actual Christian beliefs. But, after the feelings fade, it's like I snap back to reality and see that I don't actually have biblical beliefs. I have a hard time explaining it. Thank you for your time, if you get around to reading this.

Hi Bojan! I used to watch a lot of your content back in the day. I have a question, I heard you once tell a story about a priest, or someone, who died and was incorrupt, but the body was tested and it was found that, because he ate a lot of preserved food, it interacted with the natural decomposition process. I forget what exactly led to him being tested, but I think the point you were trying to make is that we should be careful to not rush calling something a miracle. Would you happen to have more details on this? Or a source? Thanks!

Hope not. I'm new to Orthodoxy which I love but am disturbed by the number of Patriarchs and bishops who DO believe in it.

My mind keeps coming to work without faith and faith without work. Like these both sit at each end of the specrtum of the lukewarm Christian and the one dragging their feet.

When I am not ready to pray, I listen to Orthodox chants like "Kyrie Eleison," which are very repetitive and meditative. This usually gets my mind and my heart quiet before the Lord. Then I am ready to say my prayer rule. Sometimes I will keep the chant on in the background while praying to keep my mind and heart focused on the Lord. God bless you.

Hello Bojan I hope you will help out a Catholic here:) You have said in your videos that you should get a prayer rule from your spiritual father. I am Roman Catholic but I find that the eastern way of praying fits my temperament much better. I have begun praying St seraphim’s prayer rule but I feel like it is only the bare minimum. I can’t turn to my spiritual father since he is also Roman. Could you share some resources that could help or even your own prayer rule? Thank you in advance, and God bless.

Hello, former Catholic here :) My spiritual director when a Catholic always said that if you set yourself too lengthy a prayer rule the devil will do his best to disrupt it and make you feel bad. He just gave me 3 psalms to say every day (148, 149, 150) as a 'sacrifice of praise'. I found this gave me the strength to say the morning and evening prayers from the Benedictine Diurnal most days, no problem. I also did the consecration to the BVM and that involves 3 Hail Marys when I get up and when I go to sleep. On becoming Orthodox my spiritual father gave me much the same advice as my former Catholic one and basically said not to try too hard. So I have kept the same prayer rule with the Orthodox version of the Hail Mary as substitute and I usually say the morning and evening prayers of the Church also. However don't forget that prayer is not just a thing for the mind, the Orthodox are big on conforming the body also. Therefore prostrations and signs of the cross are also prayers . You may want to add these to your prayer arsenal. And I haven't even touched on fasting which without prayer is mere vanity, but you really need to do that under direction. Basically, 'drift down the Danube' and become Orthodox, you won't regret it!!

Quite right the spirituality in Roman Catholicism is completely different to the spirituality in orthodoxy if you are inclined you should look at finding an orthodox parish and finding a priest there who will guide you God bless you and forgive me if this caused you any offence or upset you in anyway

@@nicksor2543 I like the eastern spirituality more in many ways but I think the Tridentine Mass is the most beautiful liturgy in the world and would never leave it. And even if I were to change I would just go to a Byzantine Catholic Church. I did look into Orthodoxy when I first became a Christian but I wasn’t convinced.

I feel like I just go through the motions even when I force myself to pray and it's hard for me to stay focused on what the church is saying. Like during Divine Liturgy, I usually pray by myself during the service without listening to what the church around me is saying. And also, it's hard to hear what other people are saying because sometimes they mumble while singing and I have a bad ear

I just want to say we need more positive comments like this. These days it seems like the four walls are closing in, when in reality Christ is risen and is coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Knowing this, let's pray with fervor, with our whole heart, aware of His presence. Let's be resolute, patient and humble. Let's savor every moment of grace, and remember those moments next time it's hard to pray. Never abandon or abridge your rule without permission or necessity. How often in the final moments of a long struggle to pray has God touched our hearts? This is how we can learn of His mercy and kindness and love for mankind, would you agree?
